Pune Railway Division earns Rs. 1.78 Crore from 26515 cases of ticketless travellers in June 2024

The Pune Railway Division authorities in the month of April 2023 caught 28,167 people travelling ticketless and collected a fine of Rs. 2 crore 29 lakh 22 thousand from them.

The ticket checking inspectors took this action under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Indu Dubey, in coordination with Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Brijesh Kumar Singh, and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Dr. Milind Hirve, and Divisional Commercial Manager, Dr. Ramdas Bhise.

The violators were fined Rs. 50,69,000 for traveling irregularly, and a fine of Rs. 21,000 was imposed on 206 people for carrying luggage without paying luggage booking charges. 

The railway authorities conducts regular ticket checks, and passengers are urged to travel with a valid ticket or may face a fine under the Railway Act, or even a jail term.
