In a significant stride towards sustainability, Kirloskar Solar Technologies Pvt. Ltd. successfully completed the installation of a 35.3 KWp rooftop solar project at Oxford Village Premium Condominium (OVPC), located in Wanawadi, Pune (411040). The inauguration ceremony, held on January 26, 2024, was graced by the presence of MLA Sunil Kamble.

Comprising 66 solar panels and 2 inverters, the solar project is dedicated to powering four buildings within OVPC – namely P-1, P-2, P-3, and P-4. Initiated last year, the project was executed within the stipulated timeframe, resulting in a commendable reduction in electricity consumption.

Previously relying on nine different meters across the four buildings, the completed solar project has streamlined operations to just two meters. This optimization not only enhances efficiency but also simplifies the monitoring and management of electricity usage.

The electricity generated by the rooftop solar project is channeled towards powering common lights, eight lifts, and water pumps within the OVPC premises. The environmental impact is already evident, with OVPC experiencing a remarkable 50% reduction in last month’s electricity bill (December 2023). This significant decrease is poised to continue, promising a more sustainable and cost-effective energy future for OVPC.

OVPC takes pride in its commitment to environmental responsibility, considering the successful implementation of the rooftop solar project as a major milestone towards a greener and eco-friendly community. The positive outcomes of this initiative not only contribute to the reduction of the condominium’s carbon footprint but also set a noteworthy example for other communities aspiring to embrace renewable energy solutions.
