Pune: 7 Killed on the Spot in Horrific Car-Tempo Collision on Jejuri-Morgaon Road
Jejuri | June 18 – A devastating road accident on the Jejuri-Morgaon route claimed the lives of seven people on the spot on Tuesday evening. The collision occurred between a speeding Swift car and a pick-up tempo near the Kirloskar Company premises, around 7:15 PM.
According to local sources, the pick-up tempo had halted near Shriram Hotel to unload goods when the Swift, travelling from Jejuri towards Indapur, rammed into it at high speed. The impact was so severe that eight people — including the hotel owner, workers unloading the tempo, and occupants of the car — died instantly. Among the deceased is one woman.
Five others, including two children, a woman, and two men, were seriously injured in the incident. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been officially confirmed, and police are currently investigating the case. Authorities are working to notify the families of the victims and determine the exact cause of the accident.
