In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, there will be up to seven private charging stations installed, according to officials of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).
According to officials, construction has already begun on one of these charging stations at Hinjewadi Phase 2.
Additional stations will be located at Bhosari, Katraj, Baner-Sus Road, Pulgate, Deccan Gymkhana, Bhakti-Shakti Nigdi, and Bhosari. These stations will offer 24-hour charging for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheeler vehicles.
Adani Group will set up these charging stations on PMPML property, and the transportation authority will receive 32.5% of the profit.
According to a senior PMPML official, e-vehicle charging stations are being installed at seven PMPML locations in order to boost income outside of ticket sales. At Hinjewadi Phase 2, one of the charging stations’ construction has begun.
With a fleet of 1,750 buses, PMPML offers public transportation in the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad areas. On a daily basis, approximately 11 to 12 lakh passengers travel, and the transport organization makes an average of ₹1.6 crore.
