Pune: Baner To Get No Parking Zones And P1-P2 Designations To Combat Traffic Congestion: Full Details Inside

Pune | April 29, 2025 — In an effort to ensure smooth and safe vehicular movement in Pune city, the Traffic Department has introduced a series of new traffic and parking regulations under the Baner Traffic Division. These directives have been issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, Amol Zende, using powers under Sections 115, 116(1)(a)(b), 116(4), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act and Maharashtra Government Notification No. M.V.A. 0196/871/CR 37/TRA 2 dated September 27, 1996.

Key Highlights of the New Order:

  • An 800-meter stretch of road from Amar Arma Genesis to Solitaire 9 Society in Baner has been designated a No Parking Zone on both sides of the road.
  • Additionally, a 500-meter stretch from High Street, Balewadi to Park Express Society will now be a No Parking Zone on both sides.
  • The stretch from Park Express Society Gate to Pune Municipal Corporation School has been declared a P-1, P-2 Parking Zone, allowing regulated parking.
  • Emergency vehicles including fire brigades, police vehicles, and ambulances are exempt from these restrictions.
  • All prior parking restrictions in the mentioned areas stand cancelled and replaced by the new directive.

Implementation & Compliance Measures:

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is tasked with installing appropriate signboards at all designated locations within seven days and submitting a compliance report to the DCP (Traffic) office. DCP Amol Zende has appealed to citizens to strictly follow the new parking regulations, stressing that these steps are vital to reduce congestion and enhance safety across high-traffic stretches in Baner.
