Pune, January 31, 2026: The Indian National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced temporary lane closures on the Pune–Satara National Highway to facilitate the installation of speed monitoring camera gantries on Navale Bridge. The work will be carried out between February 3 and February 5, during which traffic movement from Satara towards Mumbai will be restricted for a limited period each morning.

According to official information, the lane closure will be in effect daily from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, affecting the stretch between the new Katraj tunnel and Navale Bridge. During these two hours, vehicles heading towards Mumbai from the Satara side will not be allowed to pass through this section of the highway.

In view of the temporary disruption, commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and make use of alternative routes. The Project Director of the Indian National Highways Authority of India has appealed to citizens to use the old Katraj tunnel and the available service roads during the specified time period to avoid inconvenience and traffic congestion.

The installation of speed control camera gantries is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and enforce speed regulations on one of Pune’s busiest highway corridors. Navale Bridge and its surrounding stretch have witnessed frequent traffic congestion and accidents, making speed monitoring a key priority for highway authorities.

Traffic police and highway officials will be deployed at strategic points to guide motorists and ensure smooth diversion of traffic during the lane closure period. Commuters are urged to cooperate with authorities, follow traffic advisories, and allow extra travel time while using alternative routes during the scheduled hours.

Authorities have assured that the work will be completed within the stipulated time frame to minimize inconvenience to daily commuters.
