Pune-Bengaluru Highway:Â Officials Conduct Joint Survey To Tackle Traffic Congestion At Bhumkar ChowkÂ
Pune, March 21, 2026: A joint inspection was conducted today at the Bhumkar Nagar underpass and Navale Chowk areas in Narhe to address persistent traffic congestion on the National Highway. The visit included senior officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) road department, encroachment department, and traffic police, along with local representatives and residents.
During the inspection, Executive Engineer Rajendra Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner Bhausaheb Shelar (Encroachment Department), Rajesh Bankar (Road Department), Dinkar Gojare (Project Department), Assistant Engineer Vijay Dabhade, and Police Inspector Sunil Gavali, along with junior engineers from NHAI and PMC, were present.

Local corporators Sandeep Beldare and Jayshri Bhumkar, Ambegaon Federation President Sandeep Jajure, and chairpersons, members, and office-bearers of various housing societies in the area also attended to raise questions and concerns.
Officials were instructed to widen the service road, remove encroachments, and relocate water pipelines along the service road. These measures aim to reduce traffic congestion and ensure safer and smoother travel for commuters in the Bhumkar Chowk and Navale Chowk areas.
