A bomb discovery behind Blue Ridge Society on Maan-Mahalunge road in Hinjawadi has stirred concerns as it marks the third such incident in the area. Discovered during construction work for a bridge by the PMRDA using a JCB machine on Wednesday, the bomb measures one foot in length and 40 cm in diameter, weighing approximately eight kilograms.

Accordingly, Hinjawadi Police promptly called the BDDS team to examine and potentially defuse the bomb. For safety, it has been securely stored in a three-by-four-foot pit near the police station grounds. The police assured citizens of no immediate danger.

Historically, the Hinjawadi belt, once a dense forest, served as a war drill area during the British era. Local experts suggest that unexploded bombs from that period may still be buried, resurfacing during excavations. The police are coordinating with the Southern Command for further action.

Senior Police Inspector Hinjawadi police station Kanhaiya Thorat emphasized the importance of following proper procedures to ensure public safety.
