Pune residents are set to experience water cuts on Thursday as the civic administration undertakes repairs and maintenance across various areas of the city. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that water supply will be restored early on Friday morning, with arrangements in place for tanker services in affected areas.

The repairs are scheduled at multiple pumping stations including SNDT, Vadgaon, Bhama Askhed, Pune Cantonment, Warje, and Holkar. Consequently, neighborhoods such as Warje, Kothrud, parts of Shivajinagar including S B Road, Prabhat Road, Bhandarkar Road, Bavdhan, parts of Pashan, Baner, and Balewadi will face water scarcity on Thursday.

However, Parvati water works will remain operational, ensuring continuous water supply to Peth areas, pockets along Satara Road, and Shivajinagar.

Nandkishor Jagtap, head of PMC’s water supply department, stated, “Most of the maintenance works planned for Thursday are related to electrical repairs. We aim to complete these tasks by Thursday night to facilitate the resumption of water pumping by Friday morning. Adequate manpower will be deployed to expedite the process and minimize inconvenience to residents.”

The civic authorities have assured residents that the planned maintenance works are aimed at ensuring the efficient functioning of water supply units and minimizing future disruptions.
