Pune: Bomb Threat Email Sparks Panic At Baner Passport Office

A threatening email warning of an RDX blast at the Regional Passport Office in Baner caused panic in Pune on Thursday morning. The email was received around 10:07 am on the official email ID of the office located on the Baner–Pashan Link Road.
Following the alert, police teams immediately reached the spot, cordoned off the area, and launched security operations. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad carried out a thorough search of the premises to ensure public safety.
No suspicious objects or explosive materials were found during the inspection.
Based on a complaint filed by passport office official Jatin Pote (51), a resident of Baner, a case has been registered at Baner Police Station against an unidentified person.
Police have initiated an investigation to trace the source of the email and identify those responsible for issuing the threat. Authorities have confirmed that the situation is under control and there is no immediate danger to the public.
