Ahead of the 2024 Maharashtra State Assembly elections, Pune residents are coming together to express their love and concern for Vetal Tekdi, one of the city’s most treasured natural landmarks. On Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 7:30 AM, like-minded citizens will gather at the Aapla Maruti Temple for an informal walk to the Quarry and back. The programme is organised to increase awareness among the voters to choose a candidate who stands with the citizens to save the hills, which are the lungs of the city. The programme is organised by Vetal Tekdi Kruti Samiti.

This event is not a protest but a peaceful gathering aimed at bringing together people who care about the future of Vetal Tekdi. Participants are encouraged to share their stories, thoughts, and hopes for the preservation of this green space.

As the city continues to develop, the gathering offers a platform for citizens to reflect on the importance of protecting Vetal Tekdi for future generations. All are welcome to join and contribute to the conversation about safeguarding this beloved hill in the heart of Pune.
