Pune: Civic, District And Police Officials Inspect Route For ‘Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026’
Pune, January 7, 2026: An inspection of the route within Pune Municipal Corporation limits for the upcoming ‘Bajaj Pune Grand Tour 2026’ was conducted on January 6, 2026. The inspection was carried out by Municipal Commissioner Mr. Naval Kishore Ram, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Mr. Omprakash Divte, and Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mr. Manoj Patil.
Pune is a city with a rich historical legacy and numerous heritage tourism sites. With the aim of showcasing these landmarks on the global map, boosting the local economy, and creating employment opportunities for local youth, this international cycling competition is being organised. The event is expected to highlight Pune and India at the international level.
During the inspection, the Municipal Commissioner directed that all roads along the competition route be upgraded to excellent standards at the earliest. He also ordered immediate commencement of race-related road markings, thorough cleanliness drives, and the removal of unauthorised encroachments along the route.
Officials present during the visit included Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav, Chief Engineer (Roads) Aniruddha Pawaskar, Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap (Zone 1), Deputy Commissioner Avinash Sapkal (Solid Waste), Chief Security Officer Dr. Ramesh Shelar, and Chief Engineer (Electrical) Ms. Manisha Shekatkar.
