Pune : CoEP to conduct Pune metro project audit

According to the official statement issued by the College of Engineering Pune (CoEP) Technological University, they have been appointed to conduct a technical audit of the Pune Metro stations. The audit was initiated after allegations of structural flaws in the project were made, and CoEP was tasked with inspecting the structure and submitting an interim report.

Initially, the structural audit was conducted by Professor Ishwar Sonar, faculty member and consultant for Maha Metro on behalf of CoEP. However, he was later suspended for internal reasons, and CoEP refused to accept his report. Subsequently, CoEP conducted the structural audit again and claimed to have submitted the report to Maha Metro before the deadline.

However, there seems to be a discrepancy between the two agencies as Maha Metro denies receiving the report, while CoEP claims to have submitted it on time. The Pune Metro project is a significant infrastructure development for the city and is expected to address the current traffic woes.

The CoEP has submitted observation reports to Maha Metro for seeking clarification on technical matters, and Maha Metro is expected to provide the necessary clarifications soon. After receiving the clarifications, CoEP will issue the final closure report to Maha Metro, as per the order of the High Court of Bombay.
