Pune : Confusion over Bhosari metro station name continues : MahaMetro requests name change to central Ministry

Pune: Punekars have given great response to Metro Rail in Pune and the number of passengers is increasing day by day. The passengers are confused as Bhosari Metro Station lies in Pimpri-Chinchwad to Shivajinagar Court route.
Therefore, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has requested the Union Ministry of Housing and Civil Affairs to change the name of this metro station.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director Public Relations And Administration, Pune Metro said, “The request for name change of Bhosari Metro Station was sent a while ago to the central ministry. Now, their committee will decide about the matter & send a response to us soon.”
As per further information, Maha Metro stated that the company has requested the central ministry to change the name of Bhosari Station. At the same time, there is a demand to change the name of some other stations which includes Budhwar Peth station. Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of Maha Metro, informed that the passengers have requested the association to change the name.
The area where this station is located is known as Nashik Phata while Bhosari is five km away from this place. The present station and the Nashik Phata come on the Pune-Mumbai Highway. Bhosari is located on the Pune-Nashik highway.
