The final voter list for Pune district, including Pune city and its 21 assembly constituencies, has been released, revealing a total of 82,92,951 eligible voters.

Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase announced this milestone, noting the significant increase from the previous count of 81,27,019 voters. The surge in voter numbers, totaling 1,65,932, is attributed to newly received applications for enrollment and registrations of voters relocating to Pune from other states.

Dr. Diwase highlighted the proactive campaign by the district administration that led to a large-scale registration of new voters. Additionally, around 23,000 applications are under review for further action. Candidates have a window of opportunity to register in the voter list, with deadlines varying based on Lok Sabha constituencies.

Dr. Diwase emphasized the ongoing training of election employees, with plans to increase the number of polling stations to 8,382 across the district’s assembly constituencies to accommodate the growing electorate.
