Pune: Like every year, this year too, the Durga Puja Pandal at the renowned Khadki Kalibari in Pune is inspired by Lord Krishna’s temples. The pandal, now in its 84th year, is influenced by the famous Prem Mandir of Vrindavan. Skilled craftsmen from Krishna Nagar in Kolkata, led by Kaushik Mukherjee, have meticulously crafted a stunning white replica of the Prem Mandir using white sheets, cloth, and bamboo.

As per the information, artisans have dedicated over two and a half months to recreate the magnificence of the Prem Mandir in Pune. Furthermore, the attire of Maa Durga and her children has been inspired by the idols at Vrindavan and the interior of the pandal is adorned with small statues of Radha and Krishna.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Abhra Pratip Ray, Executive Committee member, Pune Kali Bari added, ”Talented craftsmen hailing from Kolkata have successfully crafted a replica of the renowned Prem Mandir located in Vrindavan. The inauguration of this masterpiece witnessed an impressive turnout of 1500 individuals on its very first day, and we anticipate a substantial increase in devotees during auspicious occasions such as Ashtami and Dussehra, with an estimated range of 7000 to 8000 visitors. The distribution of Bhog prasad will take place on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, providing devotees with the option to consume the prasad on-site or conveniently carry it home, as a link to our Facebook page has been provided for this purpose. Our dedicated team comprises approximately 40 volunteers, with an additional twenty individuals lending their support specifically on the day of prasad distribution.”
