Pune : Electricity pole poses danger to motorists at Kad Nagar chowk in Undri
After the Pune Municipal Corporation undertook resurfacing work on the stretch between Marvel Sangria and Kad Nagar chowk now the Electricity poles and high tension wire pole is causing severe threat to motorists.
The local residents are urging that the pole must be shifted to a safer place to curb accidents. The road was dug up by the Pune Municipal Corporation to lay water pipelines, cables and also widened. The street poles which were earlier aligned to the previous road were not causing any problem. But with the widening of the road, these poles now stand as a big threat for motorists especially bikers and four wheelers.
When Pune Pulse spoke to the head of electricity department, Shrinivas Kandul, he said, “The issue needs to be looked into. The power lines are of MSEDCL. The power firm will be informed too, as its in their purview.”
Pune Pulse raised this issue with a senior official of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) company and apprised him of the situation. He stated that when any agency undertakes road work they should intimate us about the poles too. There is an estimation report which needs to be raised. I shall check with the Pune Municipal Corporation authorities and look into the matter and take appropriate action.
