Pune Firing incident : Jeweller shot at B T Kawade Road ; investigation underway by Wanowrie police 

In the BT Kawade Road area late on Wednesday, amid the holiday rush, an unidentified assailant opened fire on a 35-year-old owner of a jewelry store and took gold chain and other valuables from him, according to police officials.

According to police officials, Pratik Madanlal Oswal, the owner of a jewellery shop in the Sayyadnagar area, was riding home on a motorbike with his father when the unidentified robbers opened fire on him.

Six shots were fired at Oswal during the incident, which occurred at around 9.30 p.m., according to a senior police official.

Oswal was shot in the leg, though it was unclear how seriously he was hurt.

According to police officials, he was robbed of a gold chain and other valuables by the attackers; the extent of the loss is still being determined.

Oswal was with his father when three attackers arrived, and one of them fired at him, according to the preliminary report.

At the time the report went to press, senior police officers, crime branch officers, and police officers from the Wanowrie police station were present.
