Former Member of Parliament (MP) and prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sanjay Kakade, has expressed disappointment after being denied a Lok Sabha candidature for the Pune constituency. Despite his disappointment, Kakade remains hopeful and implies that he will continue to seek a ticket until the party’s final decisions are made.

In a statement to media reporters, Kakade conveyed his disappointment, stating that while he respects the party’s decision to nominate Murlidhar Mohol for Pune, he still harbors hope for reconsideration of his candidature until the nomination process is concluded. He expressed no ill will towards Mohol but underscored his desire for another chance to represent Pune.

Kakade also highlighted his efforts to communicate with party leaders, including sharing insights from continuous surveys conducted by the party. He mentioned providing information to Sanjay Chavan, a party leader, who visited his residence to discuss the matter. Kakade emphasized the potential impact of rival parties’ strategies, particularly the nomination of Ravindra Dhangekar by the opposition party, on the Pune constituency’s dynamics.

This isn’t the first time Kakade has pursued a Lok Sabha ticket. In 2019, despite seeking candidacy for the Lok Sabha elections, the party chose Girish Bapat as the BJP’s candidate. Nevertheless, Kakade remains optimistic, hoping that senior party leaders will carefully consider his candidacy and make a decision that aligns with the interests of Pune constituents.
