Gayatri Tambavekar, a talented young rider from Pune, won the gold medal in the 67th National School Track and Road Cycling Championship in Ranchi. There were about 450 gifted players in the lively event, ranging in age from 14 to 19.

Gayatri showed exceptional talent in the under-14 division by winning the time trial competition and finishing the course in a whopping 42.1 seconds. With times of 43.9 seconds and 45.1 seconds, respectively, Sahasara of Telangana and Sandhu of Punjab took second and third place in the intense competition.

In addition to her outstanding performance, Gayatri helped Maharashtra achieve success by winning a bronze medal in road cycling.

Gayatri thanked Pratap Jadhav, vice president of the Cycling Federation of India, and Sanjay Sathe, secretary of the Maharashtra Cycling Association, for their support, attributing her accomplishments to their support.

Gayatri, a seventh-grader at Baner’s VIBGYOR School, has spent seven years honing her cycling abilities at Phoenix Cycling Academy Pune with coach Darshan Barguje.
