Pune: Grand Pran Pratishtha Ceremony Of Shri Siddheshwar Dakshinmukhi Hanuman Temple Held In Mahadevwadi
Pune, May 13, 2026: A grand three-day Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Shri Siddheshwar Dakshinmukhi Hanuman Temple near Sainik Vihar society, was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual fervour in Mahadevwadi under the Hadapsar Assembly constituency. The religious festivities witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of devotees, residents, and followers of Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram.
The three-day celebrations were organised by Pramod Nana Bhangire and the Goyal family, drawing devotees from across the locality. The entire Mahadevwadi area resonated with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and praises of Lord Hanuman as the temple inauguration ceremonies created a deeply devotional atmosphere.
On the first day, a grand Kalash Yatra featuring 108 sacred pots was taken out amid traditional music, saffron flags, and devotional chants. The programme also included Dhwaj Pujan and a Sahastradeep Maha Aarti in the evening. Thousands of illuminated lamps lit up the temple premises as devotees offered prayers and sought blessings.
The second day featured several Vedic rituals including Vedi Pujan, Agni Sthapana, Navgraha Pujan, Mandal Pujan, Annadhivas, Phaladhivas, Pushpadhivas, and Havan ceremonies. Priests conducted the rituals with Vedic chants and traditional procedures, creating a spiritually charged environment throughout the area.
On the final day, a grand Rath Yatra carrying the Dakshinmukhi Hanuman idol was taken out with great enthusiasm. Devotees participated in large numbers carrying saffron flags while dhol-tasha performances and devotional slogans filled the streets with energy and celebration.
The programme concluded with the formal Pran Pratishtha of the idol, recitation of the Sundarkand, Maha Aarti, and Mahaprasad distribution. Many devotees were seen emotionally overwhelmed while taking darshan of the newly installed idol of Lord Hanuman.
Residents, senior citizens, women, youth, and children from various housing societies in Mahadevwadi actively participated in the ceremonies. Devotees described the event as a memorable spiritual occasion that strengthened religious unity, devotion towards Lord Ram, and cultural values in the locality.
Locals expressed confidence that the Shri Siddheshwar Dakshinmukhi Hanuman Temple will emerge as an important spiritual and cultural centre for the area in the years ahead.
