Pune: Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar today in continuation to commemoration births oc the 350th year of the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, along with the revered martyrs Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dyala Ji, with a spiritually enriching special program.

The program featured a soul-stirring kirtan by Bhai Amandeep Singh, Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib. 

A highlight of the programme was the recitation of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Bani by 20+ students of the Gurbani Sangeet Academy, Navi Mumbai, performed on Tanti Saaj—the traditional and ancient Sikh musical instruments.

The Gurbani Sangeet Academy, affiliated to Gurbani Social Foundation, operates three branches across Mumbai—Sanpada, Panvel and Kalamboli. Under the guidance of Chairman S. Charanjit Singh and managed by trainers S. Amrit Pal Singh and Sdn. Sukhjinder Pal Kaur, the academy trains 100 plus students, including children, working professionals and senior citizens aged 4 to 80 years. Students learn Tanti Saaj, Harmonium, Tabla, and Raags from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, including Asa Di Vaar, Lavan and Padtal. Annual exams, competitions and Raag Darbaars are conducted in Mumbai and across India, nurturing a deep connection with traditional Sikh music.

The Gurudwara management is actively encouraging younger generations to preserve and practise the rich heritage of S Charanjit Singb Sahni, President Gurudwara announced, Gurbani Sangeet. 

Tanti Saaj, Harmonium and Tabla classes will soon begin at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar, Camp, Pune, ensuring wider access and promote the timeless tradition of Sikh classical music.
