Pune: Indian Army Weight Lifters Shine At Youth And Junior Asian Weight Lifting Championship, Kazakhstan
Indians Army‘s budding weightlifters part of Army Boys & Girls Sports Company of Army Sports Institute, Pune have concluded a highly successful international competition, bringing home a significant medal haul and showcasing their potential on the global stage.
The three young weight lifters, part of the Indian contingent delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating the strength of India’s weightlifting talent pipeline.
Sports Cadet Maharajan won Gold medal in his 60 Kg weight Category by lifting 115 kg in snatch and 140 kg in clean & jerk. Sports cadet Dharamjyoti and Girl Sports Cadet Pungi Tara settled for Silver medal in 56 kg and 44 kg weight category respectively.

The three budding weightlifters part of the team have secured a podium finish. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the effectiveness and success of Mission Olympics Programme, a flagship initiative of Mission olympics Wing of Indian Army.
The success of these young weightlifters underscores the potential for future growth and achievement in the sport and the will of Indian Army in nurturing the future talent of the nation.
The athletes are now focused on qualifying for the upcoming 2025 Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in September and continuing to build on their success.
