Pune, March 28 – A shocking case of sexual assault and financial extortion has surfaced in Pune, where a young female IT engineer was allegedly drugged, gang-raped, and blackmailed for ₹30 lakh by a group of men. The incident has been reported at the Kalepadal Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
Accused Manipulated Victim with False Promises
According to the police, the victim, originally from Karnataka, is employed at a reputed IT firm in Pune. In 2021, she became acquainted with the prime accused, Tamim Harsalla Khan, through Facebook. Khan allegedly deceived her by claiming that his father owned a major construction business and gained her trust by promising marriage.
Their first meeting took place at a Fab Hotel in Kandivali, Mumbai, where Khan allegedly drugged her soft drink and sexually assaulted her. He then took her to Pune, where he assaulted her again. Later, he called three of his associates, who also allegedly gang-raped the victim.
Financial Exploitation and Blackmail
In addition to the physical assault, the accused exploited the victim financially. He reportedly showed off luxury cars such as a Range Rover, Mercedes, and Porsche to gain her trust. Later, he took nude photos of her and used them for blackmail. Under pressure, the victim paid him ₹10 lakh.
The accused further forced her to take loans under the pretense of starting a business, ultimately extorting ₹30 lakh and two iPhones. When she demanded her money back, the accused allegedly assaulted her again.
Legal Action and Investigation
Following the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered at Kalepadal Police Station against Tamim Harsalla Khan and his three accomplices. The police are currently investigating the matter.
Legal assistance was provided to the victim by Advocate Tosif Shaikh and his team, including Advocates Suraj Jadhav, Kranti Sahane, Swapnil Girme, and Neha Pise. Advocate Shaikh has emphasized the need for swift legal action, stating that the accused must be held accountable for their crimes. He highlighted that the victim suffered both physical and financial abuse and urged authorities to ensure that justice is served.

The police are actively probing the case, and further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the accused to prevent such incidents in the future.
