Pune: Ivy Estate In Wagholi Celebrates Chhath Puja With Community Spirit And Cultural Dedication
The Chhath Puja celebrations at Ivy Estate, Wagholi, wrapped up successfully, with around 80 families coming together for this sacred festival. Families gathered to honor the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, performing rituals to express devotion, strength, and gratitude.
The fourth and final day of the festival began in the early morning, with families dressed in traditional attire assembling by a specially prepared water body near the Ivy Nia exit gate. They offered “arghya” to the rising sun, accompanied by the sounds of traditional Chhath songs made famous by the late Sharda Sinha Ji, to whom the community paid tribute.
The event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of volunteers from Vaishali Sanskritik Sanghatana (VSS) and nearby societies. Volunteers (from Ivy Nia, Ivy Apartment-Villas, Umang Premiere, Umang Homes-Primo and from nearby societies) managed every detail, from decorations and lighting to organizing the ceremonial space, ensuring that attendees could participate comfortably and safely. Organizers also provided essential items like fresh milk (kachcha doodh), diya, and other traditional supplies, especially helpful for families new to the area.
Residents were overwhelmingly positive, grateful for the chance to celebrate this cherished tradition close to home. The Ivy Estate community extends heartfelt thanks to all who participated and volunteered, making this Chhath Puja a memorable experience.
As Ivy Estate and VSS continue to grow, events like these highlight the value of community, culture, and shared celebrations among residents.
