Pune : Kedgaon Railway Station to be developed under Amrit Bharat Scheme

Kedgaon Railway Station, under Pune Railway Division, will be developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the transformation of the station will take place in the next few months.

As per further information, Kedgaon Railway Station is an NSG-5 (Non-Suburban Halt-5) category station in Pune Railway Division. From this station many passengers travel to Mumbai, Kolhapur, Latur, Hyderabad, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Amravati, Bhusawal, Nagpur and outside the state as well.

This village has the largest market in Daund taluka and there is an International NGO Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission located here. Dairy plants, jaggery manufacturing units, residential plots are also located here. Various educational institutes and medical colleges, multi-speciality hospitals are also present here promoting the students and faculty to travel at this station.

Kedgaon Railway Station provide services and also connects villages that are Choufula, Deulgaon, Nangaon, Pargaon, Bhandgaon, Supa, Kadethan, Khutbav, Varvand, Dapodi, Vadgaon Rasai, Nhavare etc. Due to this, after the transformation of this station, the station will look attractive and the citizens want this work to be completed soon.

As per further information from the Kedgaon Railway Station development plan accessed by Pune Pulse, here are some highlights of planned works (total estimated cost Rs 12.54 Cr):

1. Provision of the Main Entrance Gate and Portico along with Facade improvement.

2. Development of a Circulating Area with Parking Facilities and Landscaping on the main entry along with a Covered Pedestrian Pathway from parking to entrance.

3. Provision of Full Cover Over the Platform (approx. 6000 sq.m.) along with platform surface improvement and raising of platform.

4. Provision of Additional Modular Furniture to enhance the seating capacity in Waiting Rooms and Platforms.

5. Provision of new improved toilets and water booths with enhancement of the water supply system.

6. Provision of Divyang friendly toilets and water booths along with other facilities like 02 ramps connecting Platform 1 & 2 with existing FOB and separate parking.

7. Improvement to illumination of complete station premises including all rooms circulating area etc.

8. Provision of the Digital Coach Indication Board, Train information system with video display unit and improved signages to facilitate passengers.

9. Renovation of the existing Booking Office, Entrance Lobby, Waiting room, water booths, toilets.

10. Provision of the Compound Wall in the circulating area and Platforms.

Kedgaon Railway Station will be an important station after the Introduction of Suburban EMU services in the Pune-Daund section.
