The Kondhwa police have successfully apprehended three individuals from Malshiras in the Solapur district in connection with a recent kidnapping case, thereby saving the life of the abducted person.

According to Pune Police reports, on the evening of February 10, 2024, at approximately 8:30 pm, the Pune Police control room received a distress call regarding the kidnapping of Amit Appaso Chavan by a group of individuals. Subsequently, a case under Sections 365 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Kondhwa Police Station.

Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonwane from the Kondhwa Police Station and Pune Police officer Mansingh Patil from the Crime Branch, the investigation team diligently pursued leads to locate the suspects. Initially, there were indications that the suspects were in Latur with the kidnapped victim.

The local crime branch sought assistance from Police Officer Rathod of Latur and collaborated in tracking the suspects’ vehicle. However, the suspects frequently changed their locations, making it challenging to track them.

Upon receiving credible information that the suspects were holding the kidnapped individual in the Malshiras area, Police Officer Dinesh Patil promptly mobilized enforcement officers Satish Chavan, Sujith Madan, and Laxman Holkar to Malshiras. They swiftly located the victim, Amit Chavan, who was being held captive in a maroon-colored Honda City car with registration number MH 12 HN 7582, in a field along the Pandharpur Pune Highway.

The police conducted a successful raid, rescued the abducted person, and apprehended the three suspects identified as Suraj Rajendra More, Vikram Singh Laxmanrao Patil, and Prasad Kulkarni. Investigations revealed that the kidnapping stemmed from a financial dispute, which is currently under further scrutiny.

Additionally, based on a complaint filed by the wife of co-accused Suraj Rajendra More, a case under Sections 376, 377, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at the Kondhwa Police Station.

It has been determined that Amit Chavan was abducted by the suspects in an attempt to recover funds allegedly embezzled through fraudulent means.
