Pune : Kondhwa police seize 15 bullet and KTM motorcycles from accused involved in illegal trade

The Kondhwa Police Station (Pune City Police) officials have confiscated 15 motorcycles from people engaged in unlawful activities. 

The police  was tipped off by an informant about Nikhil Sunil Rakshe, who was found in possession of a stolen Honda Shine motorcycle without a number plate. 

The team set up a trap at Bopdev Ghat and caught Rakshe, who confessed to stealing and selling the motorcycle to Mahesh Chavan.

As per the information provided, the investigation uncovered that Chavan had sold stolen motorcycles to farmers in the Indapur area, with the promise of providing documents at a later time. Chavan, in return, disclosed information about two additional individuals involved in the illegal trade. Sagar Shivaji Gunjale and Ganesh Bharat Mohite, both residents of Satara, were apprehended, and three more stolen motorcycles were confiscated from them.

In relation to these incidents, the Kondhwa Police Station has received a total of 8 complaints, with individual complaints filed at the Wanowrie Police Station, Rajgad Police Station, Mangaon Police Station, Mahalunge MIDC Police Station, Wathar Police Station, and Saswad Police Station, resulting in a combined total of 14 registered complaints.

The accused were found in possession of 15 motorcycles valued at Rs 5,50,000, which were subsequently seized by the police. The investigation team comprised of Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonwane, Police Inspector (Crime) Sandeep Bhosale, Police Inspector (Crime) Sanjay Mogle, Assistant Police Inspectors Lekhaji Shinde, Dinesh Patil, as well as police personnel Amol Hirve, Rahul Vanjari, Suhas More, Rahul Thorat, Jaydev Bhosle, Vikas Margale, Abhijeet Ratnaparkhi, Shashank Khade, Ashish Garud, and Rohit Patil.
