PUNE, May 2 — In a targeted operation against the illegal liquor trade, the Kondhwa Police on May 1 seized country-made liquor valued at ₹34,000 from Gokulnagar in Kondhwa Budruk. One of the accused is currently absconding, as police intensify their efforts to break the local illicit supply chain.

The raid was conducted around 6:15 PM near Om Bungalow, next to Shivkrupa Medical in Lane No. 4 along Katraj-Kondhwa Road. Police Constable Abhijit Sopan Jadhav filed the complaint, and an FIR was registered the same night at 11:23 PM under Section 65(E) of the Mumbai Prohibition Act.

The accused have been identified as Arun Hanumant Dhawale (46), a resident of Bhivari in Purandar Taluka, Pune District, who is absconding, and Nehal alias Sonya Kumbhar. Both were allegedly found in possession of country liquor meant for unauthorized sale.
