Mumbai | April 29, 2025 — In a significant development for Pune district’s infrastructure, the Maharashtra Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved the construction of a six-lane elevated road and expansion of the existing road between Hadapsar and Yawat. The entire project has received a financial sanction of ₹5,262.36 crore, aiming to boost regional connectivity and reduce traffic congestion along this key corridor.

The decision was announced after a Cabinet meeting held at Mantralaya, which was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with other ministers.

Other Key Decisions Taken in the Cabinet Meeting Include:

  • Administrative approval of ₹488.53 crore for remaining works and leakage prevention at Temghar Dam, Pune.
  • Revision of daily allowance for inmates at government shelters under the Beggars Prohibition Act, increased from ₹5 to ₹40 — first hike since 1964.
  • Implementation of revised guidelines for pre-matric and post-matric scholarships under PM-YASASVI scheme for OBC, EBC, and DNT students.
  • Approval to establish Maha InvIT (Infrastructure Investment Trust) under the Public Works Department.
  • Policy approval for shipbuilding, repair, and recycling facilities in Maharashtra.
  • Endorsement of Maharashtra’s Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 and Aggregator Policy for app-based vehicles.
  • Reforms in crop insurance to be based on compulsory risk coverage; focus on agricultural infrastructure investment.
  • Special development programme for Gowari community similar to Scheduled Tribes welfare schemes.
  • Increase in individual loan interest subsidy limit from ₹10 lakh to ₹15 lakh for OBC and Nomadic Tribes development corporations.

These decisions mark major strides in infrastructure, transport, and social welfare across Maharashtra.
