Pune : Mega Blood Donation Camp Celebrates Women’s Day in Shikrapur

Shikrapur, Pune: On the auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day, Maratha Samrat Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, and Dharmaveer Balidan Divas, a mega blood donation camp was organized in Shikrapur, Pune. 

Hosted by the renowned social organization Spread Happiness Foundation, known for its commitment to social service, awareness creation, and societal transformation, the event witnessed remarkable participation from the community.

The blood donation camp was held in collaboration with two prominent Odia organizations of Shikrapur, Saraswati Puja Kamiti, Bande Utkal Bharathi and Echogram Housing Cooperative Society. The event took place at the premises of Eco Gram in Shikrapur, drawing a large number of donors from the region.

Ramesh Thorat, the social worker and Vice Sarpanch of Shikrapur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the program. More than hundreds of altruistic individuals came forward to donate blood, including many women, showcasing their solidarity and commitment to saving lives.

The initiative was meticulously planned and executed under the supervision of Soumya Ranjan Mahapatro, the Founder Chairman of Spread Happiness Foundation. Anand Kumar Mahapatra, along with Debi Prasad Mohanty, Ganesh Mohanty, Saroj Roul, Pravanjan Guru, and Abhijeet Mahapatra, played pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the camp.

A notable highlight of the camp was the initiative by Spread Happiness Foundation to issue Accidental insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), in collaboration with the nationalized UCO Bank Hadapsar Branch. Mr. Soumya Ranjan Mahapatro, while promoting government schemes, urged all present members to avail themselves of the benefits provided by both central and state governments.

Purendar Blood Bank facilitated blood collection during the camp, ensuring a seamless process for donors. At the conclusion of the event, Mahapatro extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the donors and volunteers for their invaluable contribution towards making the camp a resounding success.

The Mega Blood Donation Camp served as a beacon of hope and solidarity, epitomizing the spirit of service and selflessness that embodies the ethos of Shikrapur, Pune.
