The Pune Metro project’s Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi stretch has received the green light from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), but passengers will have to wait for some time for the service to start.

If the state government orders the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro), it will be possible for passengers to travel to Ramwadi by metro in the next two days.

The metro’s Ramwadi route, which currently runs from Vanaz to Ruby Hall Clinic, was inspected by ‘CMRS’ last month. The wait for the final approval from them is finally over, the senior metro officials informed that ‘Maha Metro’ has recently received permission from ‘CMRS’.

Both the earlier phases of the Metro have been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Therefore, passengers are expected not to have to wait more for the opening of the rest of the route. It will be possible for citizens to reach Ramwadi from Vanaz and Pimpri-Chinchwad in the next two days if the state government gives instructions. At the same time, citizens going to Pune station or Shivaji Nagar from Nagar Road will be facilitated.

Thousands of passengers stuck in dilemma will get relief if metro starts up to Ramwadi. Traveling to Yerawada, Kalyani Nagar and Ramwadi will be convenient for commuters and will save their time. At present, metro service is available to citizens every seven and a half minutes during peak hours i.e. from 8 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to 8 pm. Rest of the time, Metro is available every 10 minutes.
