Pune : Part of Patwardhan wada collapsed, two persons suffer minor injuries 

On Tuesday 20th February 2024, a part of Patwardhan Wada, Pune collapsed. No casualties have been reported. Two people had minor injuries in this incident.
An old man man (75) and his wife who were living on the second floor of wada got stuck below the cupboard when it collapsed.
A person nearby the wada informed the firefighters who reached there within 10 minutes to rescue the couple.
They were stuck over there for around ten to twelve minutes after which the firefighters came and rescued them.
Both of them are safe and have been admitted to a hospital nearby and to treat the minor injuries which they suffered due to the incident. 

According to Pankaj Jagtap, Fire Officer, the wada was very old and that is why it collapsed. Moreover, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials will visit the place, investigate it and take the necessary measures for renovation of the wada. We got a call from a person nearby who informed us about the incident after which our team immediately left to the rescue of the old couple. The couple is in the hospital nearby and will be discharged soon.”
