Traffic congestion at Lonkar Chowk in Keshav Nagar is worsening by the day, with residents raising serious concerns over long-pending infrastructure projects that remain incomplete or non-operational despite significant public expenditure.
The much-anticipated Amanora–Keshav Nagar underpass has been fully constructed but continues to remain unusable for nearly two years due to the absence of a crucial connecting road. Despite the structure being ready, the lack of this link has rendered the underpass non-functional, adding to commuter woes.
Similarly, the Keshav Nagar–Kharadi bridge, a project under development for nearly a decade, is reportedly close to completion but has yet to be opened for public use.
Residents and daily commuters have expressed frustration over the delays, stating that these incomplete and disconnected projects are contributing heavily to traffic bottlenecks in the area. The lack of seamless connectivity between key routes has led to increased travel time, fuel consumption, and commuter stress.
Citizens have also questioned the efficiency of civic planning and execution, pointing out that substantial taxpayer money appears to have been spent without delivering tangible benefits. Many feel that despite consistently paying taxes and utility expenses, they are left dealing with poor infrastructure and prolonged administrative delays.
Local commuters say the situation reflects a broader issue of stalled or poorly coordinated development works in the city, calling for immediate intervention by authorities to complete the connecting road and operationalize both the underpass and bridge to ease traffic congestion.
