Pune: After months of inconvenience, relief is finally in sight for residents of Mohamadwadi and Undri, as the connecting road near Dorabjee Paradise Bungalow Society is likely to reopen by the end of May.

The road had remained shut for over eight months due to pending infrastructure work, leading to persistent traffic congestion and daily commuting challenges.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), in coordination with Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL), began the installation of a monopole around a few months ago. The installation is essential due to reduced vertical clearance under a nearby bridge, which previously caused issues with extra heavy tension wires.

MSETCL official Varsha Borkar confirmed that the monopole installation will be completed by May 2025, though the road itself may open for vehicular traffic much sooner, pending PMC’s final clearance.

Pune Pulse was among the first to highlight the disruption caused by low-hanging high-tension wires and has actively followed up with PMC and MSETCL officials to expedite the work.

Residents now await an official announcement from PMC regarding the reopening of the road, which is expected to bring much-needed relief to the area’s traffic woes.
