Pune Municipal Corporation Takes Action Against 9 Unauthorized Rooftop Hotels in Baner

On May 25, 2024, the Building Development Department Zone 3, with the assistance of police staff, conducted a decisive action against rooftop hotels, sheds, and unauthorized constructions in Baner.

In this operation, approximately 11,925 square feet of area was cleared. The locations targeted included Hotel Image Restobar, Ice and Fire near Baner Highway, and Hotel Hive above Ranka Jewelers.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Shridhar Yevalekar, Superintendent Engineer of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Building Department, Jaywant Pawar, Executive Engineer of Building Department Zone 3.

The team included Deputy Engineer Prakash Pawar, Junior Engineers Ajit Sanas, Sandeep Chabukswar, Ketan Jadhav, and their staff, Six police personnel, using one JCB, two gas cutters, one breaker, and ten encroachment staff.

Additionally, complaints have been filed against a total of nine rooftop hotels in Baner, and further complaints are being lodged against two more hotels.
