The nala which flows from Pisoli to Mohamadwadi via Undri (along Hills N Dales society) crosses Hill Green High School and Aryans School before it reaches Sanskriti School.

This nala has been a potential threat not only to the schools in the vicinity but also to the residential complexes around.

About one and half years ago, heavy downpour affected the area too. A food delivery agent while driving on the road swept away in the road. The fatal incident only unfolded when the water levels receded. In another incident a four wheeler Swift Dzire also swept away. The bridge (culvert) over the nala is not strong as well as water levels go up even in one heavy shower.

Pune Pulse has been consistently highlighting the issue of the need to strengthen the nala near Sanskriti School and Hillgreen High School. Pune Pulse had first taken up the issue of the nala on May 21, 2022 with the Pune Municipal Corporation as well as Purandar constituency MLA Sanjay Jagtap. The work was to be carried under the MLA funds but the project got shelved as the PMC and other relevant authorities delayed to confirm the work.

The nala which starts beyond Padmavati temple in Pisoli is also home to garbage and debris. The PMC needs to maintain cleanliness of the nullah. Often, garbage gets accumulated near the nullah adding to mosquito breeding. With three schools and more than 8000 students studying it may be a big threat and lead to vector borne diseases if timely action is not taken.

Purandar constituency MLA Sanjay Jagtap had taken up the work of reconstructing the road from Bishops School Undri to Sanskriti school this year. But somehow the work has not been expedited since then.

Pune Pulse spoke to Santosh Tandale, superintending engineer, Sewerage, Maintenance And Repair Department (Circle No. 4 & 5), Pune Municipal Corporation who assured to look into the matter.
