Pune News: 120 Ambulances Serve Warkaris During Ashadhi Palkhi; 8,643 Pilgrims TreatedÂ
Pune, July 4, 2025: To provide immediate health care to lakhs of Warkari of Pandhari in case of any emergency, 120 ambulances of Maharashtra Emergency Medical Service are providing health care to Warkari 24 hours a day. 108 ambulance service is implemented in the state by Bharat Vikas Group (BVG). Till date, 8643 Warkaris have availed the health care.
To ensure immediate health care to Warkari. the Emergency Medical Service has set up a control room in Pandharpur. The control room is closely monitoring the palkhi ceremony and focusing on providing immediate health care.
Lakhs of Warkaris are walking for the darshan of Vithuraya on the backdrop of Ashadhi Ekadashi. Devotees should get immediate health care while walking. This was instructed by the State Health Minister Dr. Prakash Abitkar to the Emergency Medical Services. To implement the Health Minister’s instructions, BVG Chairman Hanmantrao Gaikwad deployed 120 ambulances for the palkhi ceremony in just a few hours. 120 doctors and 128 drivers are offering 24-hour health care to the pilgrims through the ambulances.
‘I consider it my fortune that we are getting the opportunity to provide health care to the devotees during the procession of Pandhari, which is a holy place of India. As per the instructions given by the Honorable Health Minister Abitkar Saheb, we planned 120 ambulances for the palkhi ceremony in just a few hours. 248 health officials are working round the clock to ensure that the pilgrims can experience a healthy procession. Gaikwad expressed this reaction.
120 ambulances for emergency medical services have been deployed for 10 palkhi Out of these, 90 are Basic Life Support and 30 are Advance Life Support type ambulances.

7) Sant Eknath Maharaj (Paithan)
8) Rukmini Mata (Kaudanepur-Amravati)
9) Sant Nilobarai (Pimpalner-Parner Ahmednagar)
10) Sant Changateshwar Maharaj (Saswad)
