Pune News : Election commission bans publishing and broadcasting of exit polls in Chinchwad and Kasba constituency
Election Commission of India has banned publishing and streaming of exit polls for the upcoming by-polls in Kasba and Chinchwad constituency. The election schedule was announced on January 18.
From February 16, 7 am onwards to February 27, 7 pm no individual or organisation can publish, organise and broadcast exit polls on any medium.
The information was announced by Sharad Dalvi, under secretary, Chief Election Officer, Maharashtra state’s office. The prohibition order is under Representation of People Act 1951 under section 126 (1) (B).
