Pune: The education department of Pune Zilla Parishad has registered an FIR against the directors and principals of two international schools operating illegally.

The Hinjawadi police have taken action and a fine of over ₹ 34 lakh, the highest penalty recovered in the state thus far, has been collected.

Bliss Edify International School and Rudiment International School, located in Hinjawadi IT Park and Ozarkarwadi in Maan village respectively, were found to be operating without submitting the required documents or meeting the conditions specified by the state government.

The Hinjawadi police registered a case of fraud against Vineet Bhardwaj, the principal of Rudiment International School, Sarika Ozarkar, the director of the school, Sheeza Ali Khan, the principal of Bliss Edify International School, and Gautam Budhrani, the chairman and owner of Budhrani Knowledge Foundation Society. The individuals have been booked under sections 420, 465, 468, 471, and 34 of the IPC.

Both schools were established in September 2022 and January 2023 respectively, admitting students while charging exorbitant fees. The school approval certificates were fraudulently obtained from other schools, and some students were even provided with school leaving certificates, resulting in a substantial loss of revenue for parents, students, and the government.

Although the group education officer has ordered the admission of affected students to nearby government-recognized schools, parents remain concerned about the academic setback their children may face.

Efforts are underway to address the situation and ensure that the affected students receive appropriate educational opportunities.
