Pune: In order to put an end to the rising menace of bogus pujaris (priests) in Tulja Bhavani Devi temple in Tuljapur, Dharashiv district, the temple administration has made it mandatory to carry identity cards inside the premises. As per the information, the priests will only .be allowed entry after the security checks their ID cards.

As per information, it has come to the fore that the number of bogus pujaris in the temple has increased. Inorder to curb this menace, the temple administration has decided to implement stricter measures Recently, a commotion happened inside the temple premises while devotees were taking darshan of the goddess. Thus, the temple administration has also put in place regulations to curb it.

The original pujaris of the temple are demanding strict action by the temple authority against bogus pujaris. They opined that a pujari is seen as the link between the goddess and devotees. Hence, it is expected that the pujaris should behave appropriately after recognizing the importance and sanctity of being a pujari. However, some people are being present in the temple as bogus pujaris to tarnish the sanctity of the temple and the authentic pujaris, they said.
