The IIT-JEE entrance exam is renowned for its rigour, attracting millions of aspiring students annually. Among the high achievers is Chirag Falor from Pune, who clinched the top rank in the JEE Advanced exam in 2020

Chirag Falor, a standout student from Pune, achieved the top rank in the challenging JEE Advanced exam, marking a significant accomplishment. However, he chose an unconventional path by deciding not to pursue admission in the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Despite attaining a flawless 100 percentile in the JEE Mains, Chirag had already secured acceptance into the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.

His academic journey showcased remarkable achievements, including a gold medal at the 13th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) in 2019 and securing the top position in the American Mathematics competition the same year.

Facing the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 lockdown, Chirag initiated his MIT classes online from India, emphasizing his dedication to academic excellence on a global platform.

With an exceptional JEE Advanced score of 352 out of 396 marks, Chirag expressed that the JEE exam was more challenging than the one at MIT, providing him with newfound confidence. He diligently balanced attending MIT classes at night and preparing for IIT exams during the day.

This unique academic journey reflects Chirag Falor’s commitment to pursuing education at the highest level, opting for an international perspective at MIT over the prestigious IITs.
