Pune News : My Wanowrie, Safe Wanowrie Initiative Aims to Foster a Peaceful Neighborhood

Pune: The newly renovated anti-terrorism cell and surveillance team was recently inaugurated at Wanowrie Police Station on July 24. The Wanowrie Police station also began My Wanowrie, Safe Wanowrie, with an aim to ensure peaceful living in the neighbourhood.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Bhausaheb Pathare, Senior Police Inspector, Wanowrie Police Station said, “The dilapidated surveillance and anti-terrorist squad room at Wanowrie police station has been renovated and modernized, which will be prove to be of great use for police records, documents and investigations related inquiries.”

Pathare further informed that Wanowrie police station has started the ‘Apali Wanowrie, Surakshit Wanowrie’ campaign and has also started reviewing the security system in the area.

Additionally, Wanowrie Police has distributed leaflets to collect information about the tenants living in the Sayyed Nagar area. Also, the members of the Peace Committee and other Mohalla committees have been informed to create awareness among citizens to collect information about tenants. Additionally, instructions were given to the local society chairman, and secretary not to allow the tenants to enter the society without police verification. Also, police have appealed to the citizens to quickly provide copies of tenant agreement and tenant information in the police station. Wanowrie police have also installed flex boards at various places to collect information of the tenants.
