Pune News: No water cut in areas coming under Vadgaon Water Treatment Plant from July 17 to 23

Pune: In a big temporary relief for the citizens, the water supply will not be cut from July 17 to July 23, 2023, in the areas that get water from the Vadgaon Water Treatment Plant. However, the water will be cut as per the schedule from July 24 onwards.

The water supply department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) stopped the water supply in the areas that get water from Vadgaon Water Treatment Plant on Thursday as repair work was undertaken. However,  no water was supplied the next day as well.

Due to failure in supplying water, areas like Katraj, Kondhwa, Yewalewadi, Hingane, Sahakar Nagar 2, Sinhagad Road, Dhayari, Ambegaon, Dattanagar, Santoshnagar, Bharti Vidyapeeth, Vadgaon, Dhankawadi, Wonder City, Balaji Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Shelar Mala, Tilaknagar area were affected which led to a panic among the citizens.  Hence, the PMC has decided that the water cut will not take place between July 17 to July 23.  All areas falling under the Vadgaon Water Treatment Plant will receive a continuous supply of water. But, from 24th July onwards, the water supply will be cut as per the earlier schedule.

It is worthy to note that the areas that come under Vadgaon Water Treatment Plant face frequent water cuts.  As per the information, the remaining parts of the city will face water cuts on Thursday and as per the schedule.  

Aniruddha Pawaskar, head, water supply department, PMC told Pune Pulse said, “For this week there won’t be any water cut. Next week onwards on Thursday the water cut will be imposed.”
