Pune News : One Billion Rising rally spreads awareness on violence prevention
On the 14th of February, various organizations including Abhivyakti, Smile, Warsa Social Foundation, Rashtriya Mahila Majdoor Aghadi, Anganwadi Karmachari Sabha, and Unique Educational Foundation came together to organize a rally with the slogan “Resist the violence against women and BE BOLD”.
The aim of the rally was to create an equal world without violence, and to resist violence with the most powerful weapon of all – love.
The celebration will involve singing, dancing and beating of dhols on the streets. The rally started at Alka Talkies Chauk and proceeded through FC Road, Shirole Lane, and Sambhaji Garden.
” One billion rising rally is organised every year with an aim to spread awareness and send messages through singing, dancing and make people aware about curbing violence among women.” said Shraddha from Lokayat and Abhivyakti organisation Pune.
