Pune News : PMC appoints 5 structural engineers for checking the stability of illegal hoardings in Pune

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has appointed 5 structural engineers to start checking the stability of all the illegal hoardings in the city.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner, encroachment/illegal construction removal department, PMC said, ” These structural engineers will check the stability of illegal hoardings in Pune. After a detailed report from these engineers, it will be checked if the hoardings are hazardous or not. Whichever hoardings are found to be hazardous, the owner will be called and strict action will be taken. Also, that particular hoarding will be removed immediately.”
Jagtap also shared that show-cause notices were issued to five assistant municipal commissioners of the civic body for delaying the removal of illegal hoardings. They have shared the reports of the action taken against illegal hoardings and the structural engineers will take appropriate action.
It is worthy to note that along with monitoring the stability and the danger of illegal hoardings, the structural engineers’ findings will also be used to cross-check the target performance of the assistant municipal commissioners.
