Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Health Inspector Pradipkumar Raut has taken swift action against garbage burning which occurred at Connoisseurs Club in Kalyani Nagar.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Pradipkumar Raut, Health Inspector, PMC said, “Leaf waste & other similar types of waste was being burnt at Connoisseurs Club for 2 days i.e. October 17 & October 18. We have received a complaint about this. Hence, we were finding the culprits behind this, however, they were not found. The next day i.e. October 19, we received the location of the garbage burning after which we immediately went to the spot & took appropriate action. We have warned them not to burn waste ever again & to hand over any kind of garbage to the PMC daily or contact us for excess waste disposal too.”

He further added, “The citizens of Kalyani Nagar are very vigilant. They immediately informed us by any medium possible about such incidents. Firstly, a lot of waste used to get burnt in Kalyani Nagar. However, along with PMC actions & vigilant citizens, the illegal garbage burning has been significantly reduced.”

Kalyani Nagar residents have appreciated this action of PMC as they had complained about illegal garbage burning some days ago.

Monica S, a resident of Kalyani Nagar, said, “I commend Officer Pradipkumar Raut for taking swift action against the illegal burning of garbage by the Connoisseurs Club in Kalyani Nagar. Such activities not only harm the environment but also jeopardize public health. Officer Raut’s decisive stance sends a strong message that such actions won’t be tolerated. His imposition of fines sets a perfect example of how responsible citizenship should be enforced, ensuring that everyone adheres to environmental regulations. We need more dedicated officers like him to protect our environment and maintain the quality of life in our communities. His actions deserve our utmost appreciation and support.”
