Pune : The Construction Department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken action against unauthorized constructions in the Karve Nagar area.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Shrikant Gaikwad, Deputy Engineer, PMC Construction Department said, “On Wednesday, the PMC took action against unauthorized constructions in Karve Nagar area where encroachments were removed from 2 rooftop hotels & an illegal construction was removed as well.”

As per further information, the rooftop encroachments on two hotels have been removed with the help of a tool called jaw cutters in the area of 6,400 square feet. In this action, a total area of 12 thousand square feet was taken action upon.

It is worthy to note that the PMC took action against illegal rooftop hotels a few days ago however, these hotels are being reopened. Therefore, these hotels have come under the radar of the civic body.

PMC Construction Department’s Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde, Deputy Engineer Shrikant Gaikwad, Branch Engineer Mukesh Pawar, Junior Engineer Ishwar Dhamale, Sagar Shinde, Vijay Khade took this action.

Earlier, PMC had removed around 3500 square feet of unauthorized construction near Hotel Vaishali & Queen’s Shop on Fergusson College Road. These include sheds constructed with bamboo, patra, etc.
