Pune: The residents of Prathamesh Society in Kondhwa Budruk are having a difficult time navigating through the nearly non-existing roads which are filled with potholes despite several complaints over the last 12 years.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Priyanka Shinde, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune said, ” The problems faced by us are plenty. We have kids in the society. We face a lot of issues while walking or driving two-wheelers on this road. Due to the rainy season, the potholes are filled with water. Mud and dirt get accumulated on our slippers and feet. It is the only road which connects our society with the main road but it is in a very bad condition.”

Siraj Bhatkar, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune said, ” It becomes difficult to drive on this road as the tyres slip sometimes leading to injuries. Walking is also difficult on this road.”

Sulochana Shinde, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune said, “While picking up our kids from school & going out, it seems a bit scary to step out of the society as I have to encounter potholes, stones & obstructions. In the rainy season, water gets accumulated. I have also slipped while walking on the road.”

Lara D’Souza, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune said, “We have to walk on muddy & water-filled roads every day, often slipping. Even the autorickshaw refuses to come inside the society due to the condition of the roads.”

Shobhana Nadargi, another resident, said, “Walking has become a nightmare for me. Despite several complaints, the PMC has failed to do anything.”

Farzana Ayub Khan, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune said, “Roads get so muddy in the rainy season that I get stuck in the mud often while walking. Auto rickshaw drivers charge extra money if I tell them to drop me at my society due to the bad road. The school van also doesn’t come inside the society. It stands outside, so we have to go there to drop off our kids.”

Seema Pandit, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune, said “I am scared to step out of the house due to the obstruction-filled road. Even going outside to pick up our kids when they return from school has become difficult as the school van has refused to enter the society.”

Shafiq Ahmed Bhatkar, Resident of Prathamesh Society, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune said, “I am a senior citizen. So, now my knees hurt a lot due to the potholes & obstruction-filled road. Even though it’s a small patch, it feels like long-distance travel even on a scooter due to the bad road. Auto rickshaws are not willing to come to our society.

As per information, a total of 250 people reside in a total of 35 flats in the society who have this same complaint.

Pune Pulse tried to contact the concerned PMC officials but failed to connect till the filing of this report.
