The Railway administration has commenced the much-anticipated development work of the Hadapsar Terminal in Pune. With a budget of Rs 135 crores allocated for the project, the terminal’s transformation is expected to be completed by December 2024.

In a statement to Pune Pulse, Dr. Ramdas Bhise, Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) and PRO Pune Railway, shared insights into the ongoing project. “The work to develop the Hadapsar Terminal has already been set in motion. Our target is to have it fully completed by December 2024. However, we are facing a slight delay due to the acquisition of 0.5 hectares of land. Once this land acquisition is successfully accomplished, the pace of development will accelerate, potentially allowing us to finish the project ahead of schedule.”

The comprehensive development plan for Hadapsar Terminal includes several key improvements. These comprise the establishment of a general waiting hall for passengers, an executive lounge, booking counters, an 800-meter covered shed for parking, a parcel office, and an office for the Railway Protection Force. Additionally, the project includes the enhancement of parking facilities, road widening, and the dismantling of an old structure building.

The transformation of Hadapsar Terminal holds great promise for easing passenger experiences and improving overall infrastructure. As the project gains momentum, residents eagerly anticipate the terminal’s modernization and its positive impact on local transportation. With the concerted efforts of the Railway administration, travelers can look forward to a more efficient and comfortable travel experience through Hadapsar Terminal in the near future.
